If you’ve got a fashion blog, then you’re probably wanting to start monetizing it so you can start making money. In my past article called “How Do Fashion Bloggers Make Money – 5 Proven Strategies, I cover that affiliate marketing is a great way to do this.
In this post, I’m going to give you a list of fashion affiliate programs that you can join and use for your blog.
If you don’t yet have a fashion blog, you can get started today for $3.95/month. My step by step guide will show you how to set one up.
Fashion Affiliate Program #1 – Amazon Associates
The Amazon Associate program has been great for me and I have no doubt it will be great for you as well. Just about anything fashion related that you can think of is on Amazon. I use it for this blog and my lifestyle blog.
It’s free to join. Amazon’s SiteStripe makes it easy to grab the link or image of anything you want to promote on the site.
To use this feature, you’ll need to be an approved affiliate and logged into your Associate account. Navigate to the item you want to grab an affiliate link or image for.
Before you start promoting products on Amazon, there are a few things you should know.
- First, you must disclose that you are an affiliate by including this disclaimer: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” I put this on every post where there are Amazon affiliate links.
- Second, Amazon can pay you by direct deposit, gift certificate, or check. They will pay you about 60 days after the end of the month that you earned the commission in. If you choose to be paid via direct deposit, you will have to earn a minimum of $10 before you can get paid. Learn more about their payment thresholds here.
- Third, as of 3/6/20, Amazon pays a 4% commission on the women’s fashion category. This means that if someone buys a $100 pair of boots on Amazon through your link, you’ll get paid $4. This could change in the future. Use this link to see how much they pay by category.
- Fourth, you’ll get paid on any purchases people make on Amazon within 24 hours of clicking your affiliate link.
- Fifth, once your account is approved, you’ve got to generate at least one sale in 180 days or they’ll close your account. They do allow you to reapply. I’d do it once your site is more established.
- Sixth, they don’t want you promote affiliate links in email or social media. If you are wanting to, then you need to sign up for an Amazon storefront. I’ve got one for my blog and you have to add products from Amazon to it. See it in action here.
