Black cardigans are so versatile and can be worn so many different ways. They are a definite wardrobe staple I’m going to show how to style a black cardigan in this post.
You can wear a black cardigan pretty much year round. They’re best in the fall, winter, and spring, but you can also wear them on a cool summer night.
The black knit cardigan I have is oversized and longer, but it is not a maxi cardigan. You can shop my black cardigan here. I am wearing a size small and felt that it fit true to size.
You can also replicate these outfits with black cardigans that are shorter or longer than my cardigan. The vibe will be a little different, but still very cute.
These are my favorite black cardigan outfits for women. They are casual, stylish, and cute. You can also style a black cardigan to be edgy, chic, and business casual.
Black Cardigan Outfit #1 – Black Jeans Outfit
For this black cardigan outfit I am wearing a black cardigan with faded black mom jeans, a white tee, and leopard print mules.
This outfit screams fall because of the neutral colors, but also works well in the winter and spring. This outfit can be worn to work, school, a baby or bridal shower, or out to lunch with a friend.
I am wearing size 0 regular in the jeans. They’re a little long on me, so I rolled them up a little. I really like how they look rolled up.
For reference, I am 5’4″. Shoes and cardigan are true to size.
I prefer wearing a cardigan over short sleeve shirts or tank tops instead of a long sleeve shirt. Long sleeves get bulky and aren’t as comfortable under a cardigan.

2. Chelsea Boots Outfit
This outfit is perfect for fall and winter. It is cute, trendy, and fun. Chelsea boots are very fashionable and in style right now.
They look best with jeans that are a little shorter or cropped. You want your jeans to hit right above the boots so they don’t look bunched up or get tucked into the boots.
